7/28/82 Red Rocks - News Broadcast & Footage:This WNEW ch5 (now WNYW) news segment features John David Klein's report from the Jack Kerouac conference in Boulder,CO. The footage includes Ken Kesey's comments about Kerouacas well as an interview with Weir and Garcia from the backstage area of Red Rocks during their 7/28/82 performance. The segment then transitions to coverage of the Grateful Dead performance and the Deadheads who are "On The Road." After the news segment, the "B-Roll" footage from the WNEWcameraman is included and features portions of Truckin' andNot Fade Away. It is obvious that the cameraman was not thereto film the performance but was there to get as many "establishing"shots as possible for the news piece.
